NM
Nicole Moudaber’s start to 2016 has been full throttle; ringing in NYE at Heart Nightclub in Miami, an open to close set at Stereo Montreal then flying south of the border playing two shows during the music industry’s pinnacle winter event, The BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Nicole’s special beachfront sunset set during Sasha’s Last Night On Earth at Martina Beach Club can be watched via Be-At TV here. She also had the honor of playing an extended final set at the annual Official BPM Closing party at Blue Parrot closing out the 10-day marathon festival. Now the MOOD Record’s boss has released her first full-length solo EP in several months, ‘Silent Sigh’ EP available exclusively via Beatport.
“Silent Sigh” kicks off the EP with an unhurried build, filled with Nicole’s characteristically dusty textures wrapping around stoic kicks. Stark, metallic designs echo in and out, before an even darker, sub-laden kick pressure pushes the track into a powerful climax. “Move A Little Closer” displays Nicole’s skill for utilising vocals to forge a sense of intimacy and atmosphere without letting up on either pace or power. A thudding bassline and hi-hats underpin the track’s whispering, seductive samples, whilst gradual ice blast pads add depth to the production. A long-player at 10 minutes, the “Move A Little Closer” layers of build-up pay off with a mind-bending, extended breakdown of space age synths.
Closing the EP is “More Ways Than One”, with a dose of undiluted techno at its best. Deep and dark, “More Ways Than One” shows Nicole’s skill for arranging her productions so that every detail has maximum effect. Initially released as a free download to show Nicole’s appreciation for everyone who supported her throughout 2015.
There’s no limits for Nicole’s 2016 horizon. This February she’ll be playing the US debut of Awakenings NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom on Valentine’s Day back-to-back with Victor Calderone, in addition to North American tour stops at Shrine in Connecticut, Philly’s Rumor, Story in Miami and returning to Mexico for Insomniac’s EDC Mexico. Stay tuned for more information as Nicole will bring her annual MoodDAY and MoodNIGHT events to Miami Music Week 2016! Fans can rejoice as the techno connoisseur makes her awaited return to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival where Nicole will perform with Skin of Skunk Anansie both weekends in the desert. Nicole and Skin released their acclaimed collaborative ‘BREED’ EP  in fall 2015.
Nicole Moudaber’s ‘Silent Sigh’ EP is out now exclusively via Beatport.

Jerry Heller’s Hidden Electronic Music Connection

Kraftwerk-705x470

In this new interview recently published on Insomniac.com with veteran music industry executive Jerry Heller in which he discusses his history with electronic music icons Kraftwerk in full detail for the first time ever.

In the interview, Heller describes how he produced the group’s first American tour in 1975 and charged their flights, hotel rooms, and expenses on his American Express card.

Says Heller, “They were probably three decades ahead of their time. I don’t think there’s ever been another group that was that far out of sync or that far ahead of their time than Kraftwerk.”

With Jerry Heller all over the headlines in 2015 discussing his history in rap music via N.W.A and Eazy-E over and over again, this new interview exposes a part of Heller’s story previously untold.

Behrouz – ‘Endless Summer’ Out Now on All Day I Dream’s Summer Sampler

Miami, FLBehrouz is a true veteran of house and electronic music having been involved in music for over 30 years, he needs no introduction. Recently opening a club entitled Do Not Sit on the Furniture in Miami 2 years ago, he brings forth his latest original as a part of volume 2 of the All Day I Dream summer sampler.

Released on digital and vinyl prior to Burning Man and the end of summer, the ADID summer sampler also features tracks by Bedouin, Yokoo, Alexi Delano, Lauren Ritter, and many others. The founder and creator of All Day I DreamLee Burridge’s favorite and most played tracks from the compilation happens to be Behrouz’s ‘Endless Summer’ which was recently featured on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show.

‘Endless Summer’ begins with a steady cadence slowly rolling in with melancholic and atmospheric undertones. The harmony continues to enrapture you by creating an emotional warmth that is perfect to encapsulate the overall vibe of the summer of 2015. A subtle bassline then begins to take form as additional melodious elements take hold further capturing the sentiment. The track then begins to taper off adding in a few percussion breaks before coming to a close.

All Day I Dream explores beautiful, emotional and melancholic shades of House and Techno through its label’s releases, events and artists.
Endless Summer’ is out now on All Day I Dream and available on Beatport and all major digital outlets.

FTampa releases “031” on Doorn Records

•August 1, 2015 • Leave a Comment

Cover_Art

Hardwell’s been teasing you with it, and now Sander Van Doorn is letting you have it. FTampa & The Fish House’s „031” has been played by EDM’s frontrunners like Hardwell (at EDC Las Vegas, Chicago’s Spring Awakening and on his „Hardwell On Air” radio show), R3hab, Martin Garrix among others. That’s a lot of ears. This release gives the sub kick fueled big-room sound a refreshing breath of the Brazilian breeze. 031’s drop sounds like an oiled up Brazilian butt where most tracks in the genre sound like they’re dropping the listener onto a concrete floor. FTampa and long time collaborator The Fish House contrast the nighttime intensity of the drop with a feeling of rushing white water during the break. These two sections work together seemlessly with the rush of the break carrying the listener into the parade of the drop.

Almost two months ago, Tomorrowland Brasil released their most recent hair-raising aftermovie. It’s no secret that EDM is booming in Brasil. FTampa is holding the country on his back as he tours the world playing clubs and festivals. With 031’s glittery break and slippery drop, FTampa, Brasil’s pride, gives us another reason to regard him as Brasil’s most prominent EDM export. It’s productions like these that have gotten him support from the industry’s biggest names like David Guetta, Hardwell and Martin Garrix as well as placed his tunes on the soundtracks of Playstation and XBox games.

Beatport to curate new music and video presence on Spotify,

including exclusive footage from SFX festivals

SFX Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFXE) and leading music streaming service Spotify today announced a content distribution deal involving music and video content from SFX’s Beatport, including exclusive music releases previously available only on Beatport and programming from SFX festivals and events. The collaboration will bring Beatport’s brand and editorial voice to a unique program on Spotify, and marks the first partnership of its kind between Spotify and another music streaming service.

As the largest global producer of live events and digital entertainment content focused on electronic music culture (EMC) and world-class festivals, SFX has a wealth of music and video content to supply EMC and festival fans.  SFX also owns Beatport, the global home of electronic music for over a decade and the premier destination for electronic music fans.

Beatport, which began in 2004 as an online music store for DJs, has developed into a global platform where fans, DJs, and creators alike can connect, discover, and participate in the evolution of the culture. The company recently launched a new music streaming service on the web and via mobile apps (http://Beatport.com/apps) with a vast catalog of high-definition dance tracks from the world’s top and emerging electronic artists, much of it exclusive only to Beatport.

Also recently launched, the new Beatport Live web broadcasting platform has hosted exclusive content from several of SFX’s most iconic festivals, including Mysteryland USA live from Bethel Woods, NY; Sensation’s 15th anniversary show in Amsterdam and the Awakenings Festival, also in Amsterdam. This coming weekend of July 24-26, Beatport Live will also broadcast from the world-renowned Tomorrowland festival in Boom, Belgium.

From the latest tracks by rising stars in electronic music to video coverage of live events to highly curated playlists from Beatport’s team of experts, Beatport on Spotify will host a variety of premium and exclusive content from the epicenter of electronic music culture.

“We are thrilled to be operating a Beatport presence within Spotify and providing our unique content around all things EMC to the Spotify audience,” said
Greg Consiglio, President and CEO of Beatport.  “They will be the first to access the latest need-to-know exclusive electronic music from Beatport and will also be able to watch to a mix of original festival and event video content.”  Consiglio added that Beatport is building out its content network with a variety of distribution partners, but Spotify will be the only partner to gain exclusive access to Beatport’s new music exclusives.

Since the launch of its streaming service and mobile apps earlier this year, Beatport now has more than 5 million registered users and dedicated fans of electronic music worldwide.  Beatport adds about 25,000 new tracks a week through relationships with over 43,000 independent and major labels and has paid over $181 million to rights holders and electronic music creators since 2004.

Spotify has more than 20 million paying subscribers and more than 75 million active users. Since its launch in 2008, Spotify has paid over $3 billion to rights holders.

“Millions of Spotify users are going to love this unique music and video content that only Beatport can bring,” said Ken Parks, Chief Content Officer, Spotify. “Two billion times every month, our listeners discover an artist they’ve never heard of through a Spotify playlist. I’m really pleased that we can include Beatport’s new music exclusives to our deep catalogue of both rising and established artists.”

Struggles (Future Groove Mix) Preview http://bit.ly/Struggles_FutGroove

While their black and white giant counterparts face extreme daily Struggles, this British native duo have consistently proven themselves to be an exception to the rule. Unique in every way and turning heads wherever they go, Pink Panda are one species not about to be wiped out as they bring their distinctive sound and image to the forefront of contemporary dance music.Kicking off the second release on their own imprint Pandamoniam, the original Struggles mix combines relentless and unforgiving synths with driving bass that make this the perfect peak time crowd pleaser. Enlisting the unfaltering yet haunting vocals of Falinski+Griffin, Struggles packs a punch you’ve come to expect from a pair who take the roof off every party they play. Dedicated to producing cutting edge dance music, their commitment to the cause couldn’t be clearer as they also offer up another of their ‘Future Groove’ mixes. This mix takes a more driving techy route that’ll whip anyone within ear shot into a frenzied future groove and straight to the dancefloor. With previous Beatport success under these bear’s belts and BlasterjaxxCedric Gervais and Judge Jules among their list of supporters, Struggles is predicted to hit the nail on the head once again. They’ve previously taken their sound to Ibiza, Greece, Germany, Taiwan, Bahrain, Seoul and Jakarta but bangers like this in their record box is evidence that sightings of these Pink Pandas will become an ever more regular occurrence…

PETE TONG & HOT SINCE 82 JOIN FORCES TO SOUNDTRACK YOUR SUMMER

ALL GONE PETE TONG + HOT SINCE 82 IBIZA 2015

OUT VIA DEFECTED RECORDS – 07/17

unnamedThe latest installment in the acclaimed All Gone mix album series sees the definitive dance music tastemaker Pete Tong team up with Hot Since 82, one of the fiercest talents to emerge from the UK scene in the last few years.

All Gone Pete Tong & Hot Since 82 Ibiza 2015 features upfront electronic music from across the spectrum of house and techno, including cuts from the likes of Nick Curly, Azari & III, Disciples, Jaymo & Andy George x Sidney Charles, Deetron, Culoe De Song, Manta Ray and many more.

Also included are brand new and exclusive tracks from Pete Tong and Hot Since 82 themselves. Tong teams up with John Monkman on ‘Phoenix’ while Hot Since 82 showcases many of his Knee Deep in Sound label cuts alongside ‘State’ which concludes his mix on CD2.

Pete Tong continues to reign as the world’s leading dance music tastemaker. His shows on Radio 1 and Evolution in the UK and US respectively attract millions of listeners around the globe, and his All Gone parties have become the stuff of modern legend.

Hot Since 82’s rise to the top has been nothing short of incredible. Career highlights include 2013’s groundbreaking Little Black Book, ranking as a top 10 Beatport seller of all time with his ‘Bigger Than Prince’ remix and gracing the cover of Mixmag last year. Add to these notable achievements four Essential New Tunes and two Essential Mixes and you have an idea of just how talented this lad from Barnsley really is.

“Hot Since 82 is one of the most exciting underground electronic talents to emerge from the UK over the past 5 years” says Tong.  “First and foremost he’s a great DJ, who combines on-stage charisma with killer tune selection, and secondly he’s a potent force in the studio who has already delivered a rude amount of essential tunes and remixes in his relatively short career.

“I’m thrilled to be teaming up with him on this summer 2015 edition of the All Gone series.”

Pete Tong also embarks on an All Gone tour this summer, taking in destinations around the world including Amnesia Ibiza, Electric Zoo, USA and Creamfields. Full details are included below.
